Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan are the center of attention.
Wolverhampton and Tottenham Hotspur will meet in the 12th round of the 2023/24 English Premier League (EPL) on Nov. 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton, England.
Wolverhampton is in 14th place this season. Results have been erratic. They need consistency and stability. With draws against Newcastle United and Sheffield United in their last two games, they need a win to turn things around.
Tottenham also need to turn things around. They were unbeaten through 10 games and on an upward curve, but they were thrashed 1-4 by Chelsea in the 11th round.
There’s also the challenge of addressing a power vacuum. They will be without Cristian Romero, Destiny Udoji, James Maddison, and Mickey van der Vaart due to injury.
The matchup between Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan is also of interest.
The EPL tweeted, “National teammates, EPL rivals. When Wolverhampton host Tottenham, will Hwang Hee-chan or Son Heung-min be up front?” the site noted.
Hwang has scored in six consecutive EPL games at Molineux Stadium, starting with the home finale against Everton last season. This is a first in Wolverhampton’s history.
Hwang has nine offensive points this season, including six goals and two assists in the EPL and one in the League Cup. Can he rack up double digits in a single season?
Hwang has been hot on his toes this season. With six goals, he’s sixth in the EPL. He is only two goals behind Son Heung-min.
Hwang has been nicknamed the Korean Kid this season. It became a hot topic when Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola mentioned it.
“The Korean guy is a great striker,” Guardiola said before the game against Wolverhampton, adding that he was wary of Hwang.
After Guardiola called him “the Korean guy,” Hwang made his presence felt against Man City by opening the scoring.
Son Heung-min now has 111 career goals in the EPL. He is eight goals away from his eighth consecutive season with double-digit goals. He just needs two more goals. 보스토토 도메인
If Heung-Min scored double-digit goals in eight consecutive seasons, he would join Thierry Henry and Sadio Mane as the only players to do so.
Son has been on fire this season. He has been playing in a frontline striker role, as intended by manager Enze Postecoglou, and is leading the Tottenham attack. He’s filled the void left by Harry Kane’s departure and the lack of form from Xherdan Shaqiri.
