Defender Fabregas, who joined Inter Milan from Bayern Munich this offseason, has reiterated his reasons for leaving the club.
Speaking to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday (April 14), Favard explained why he left Bayern Munich. Favard completed his move from Bayern Munich to Inter Milan just before the transfer window closed in August. After four seasons with the Bavarians, where he won four Bundesliga titles, the UEFA Champions League, and 11 trophies, including the FIFA Club World Cup, he will continue his career at Inter Milan.
“I always said that I wanted to play as a center back for the club,” he said, indicating that Bayern Munich did not listen to his demands. Favard had been playing primarily as a right-back for Bayern Munich.
After leaving the Bundesliga to continue his career in Italy’s Serie A, Favard said, “The fans are important. I love their passion and I found what I was looking for at Inter,” he said, adding that he was also pleased with the fan support.
On joining Inter, Favard said: “Inter is a club that wins. It’s a club that has a lot of trophies. I play soccer to win and that’s why I decided to move to Inter Milan. I have a lot of experience of winning with Bayern Munich and the French national team. I will give my best. I want to win the Scudetto with Inter Milan and I will do my best to win as many titles as possible.”
With Favard as one of their three back options, Inter Milan are currently second in Serie A this season with a record of 6 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss (19 points). Inter have conceded just five goals in eight Serie A games this season, the fewest in the league. 메이저놀이터
With the departure of Favard, who wanted to play center back, Bayern Munich has been short a center back this season. The Bavarians have had three center backs this season – Kim Min-jae, De Ligt, and Upamecano – but De Ligt hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury last month. Upamecano has a thigh muscle injury that will keep him out of action until next month’s international break. Bayern Munich lost Kim, De Ligt and Upamecano to various injuries in the DFB-Pokal first leg against Münster last month, forcing midfielder Goretzka and flanker Mazrawi to play at center back.
Bayern Munich will have to play a Bundesliga match and a UEFA Champions League match three to four days apart after the October A-match break. With a shortage of center backs, the Bavarians will be forced to use Kim Min-jae. “There’s no player who doesn’t have a hard time,” Kim said of his upcoming stint at Bayern Munich. “I played a lot of games at Napoli last season, too. I will take good care of my body so that I can play without injury.”
