Kim Min-jae was at the center of the buildup.

Bayern Munich recorded a 3-0 victory over Freiburg in the seventh round of the 2023-24 German Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, at 12:30 a.m. ET on Monday. With the win, the Bavarians improved to 5 wins and 2 draws (17 points) and extended their unbeaten run to a record seven matches.

Last season, Munich’s pride was crushed. They went beyond Germany to become European champions, but there was only one league trophy. In the Pokal, they were knocked out in the quarterfinals by Freiburg, and in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), they were brought to their knees by Manchester City. That’s not to say they’ve been overwhelming in the league. After a season of inconsistent performances, they almost lost the title to Dortmund. Luckily, Dortmund’s draw at the end of the season allowed Munich to win the title in dramatic fashion.

Midway through last season, the Bavarians fired head coach Julian Nagelsmann and handed the reins over to Thomas Tuchel. In the summer transfer window, they brought in Kim Min-jae, who was voted the best defender in the Italian Serie A, and tried to fill Robert Lewandowski’s shoes with Tottenham Hotspur’s “ace” Harry Kane. 메이저사이트

So far, they’ve been cruising across all competitions. They scored a whopping four goals against Werder Bremen in their league opener and then went on a winning streak, defeating Augsburg and Mönchengladbach. The run was halted in the fourth round. Last season, they met Leverkusen, a team on the rise since Xabi Alonso took over, and played out a hard-fought 2-2 draw. While it was disappointing not to win at home, there were positives to take away.

The momentum from Leverkusen was picked up in Bochum. Munich scored a whopping seven goals and demolished Bochum. Although they were held to a 2-2 draw against Leipzig the following day, it was an encouraging result considering they went 0-3 in the Supercup.

In the UCL, we’re also on the upswing. In their first group game against Manchester United, Munich scored a whopping four goals to take all three points. Kane, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Mathis Thiel, and several other strikers found the back of the net. However, a lapse in concentration in the closing stages of the game, which led to two goals, needs to be addressed.
